KeyPaste vs Paste
KeyPaste is a snippet library for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with an optional Clipboard Inbox. Paste is a different app. This page compares them using KeyPaste’s current product behavior and Paste’s own website, read on 14 October 2026.
The Inbox is optional temporary storage, not a complete clipboard history. Auto-Collect Clipboard stays off until you turn it on. On iPhone and iPad, KeyPaste does not record every copy in the background.

Price
You can use KeyPaste without paying. The free app includes the keyboard, library, Inbox, and iCloud sync, with up to 20 library items and 30 Inbox items. Pro removes the library cap, lets you choose the Inbox size, and adds image text search in the main app. A yearly subscription, a lifetime purchase, and a monthly subscription unlock the same Pro. Prices are on the App Store.
On the Paste pricing page read on 14 October 2026, Personal has three plans. The page opens on Annual, which shows $2.49 per month and $29.99 billed annually, and marks Save 37% versus the monthly plan. Monthly is $3.99 per month. Selecting Lifetime shows $99.99, paid once. The page says prices are in USD, exclude taxes, and can vary by country. It also offers a 7-day trial with every feature. That page does not list a permanent free plan.
iPhone keyboard
KeyPaste’s keyboard can browse your library and insert plain text when Allow Full Access is off. Saving from the keyboard, reading the clipboard, and copying rich text or attachments need Allow Full Access. See what Allow Full Access does.
Paste’s help page, Enable and use Paste Keyboard, says you touch and hold the globe icon and select Paste. If Full Access has not been granted, Paste Keyboard shows its own Full Access instructions instead of your items. Read on 14 October 2026.
On Mac, KeyPaste’s menu bar icon only opens the Quick Panel. The panel’s main action pastes into the app that was in front when you opened it. If that permission is off, the action copies instead.
Sync
KeyPaste’s iCloud sync is available to every user, including on the free app. When you turn it on, eligible snippets, hosted attachments, tag order, and Inbox items you have saved into the library sync across your devices. Your content does not go through a KeyPaste server.
Paste’s pricing page says the full app includes sync across your devices. It does not name the sync service. The keyboard help page says your data stays on your device and in your private iCloud. Both sentences are from the pages linked above, read on 14 October 2026.
Organizing what you keep
KeyPaste keeps a library with folders, tags, search, manual order, and pins. The Clipboard Inbox is a separate, optional hold. The Share sheet and Shortcuts can save into the Inbox without Auto-Collect. The keyboard Save button stores in the library, not the Inbox.
Paste’s pricing page and keyboard help page describe pinboards as the place to collect and organize items.
Clipboard history
Paste’s pricing page describes unlimited clipboard history as part of the full app, together with pinboards, search, and sync.
KeyPaste does not do that. After you turn Auto-Collect Clipboard on, iPhone and iPad can take the current clipboard when you open KeyPaste, and when the keyboard appears if Allow Full Access is on. On Mac, once Auto-Collect is on, KeyPaste can take new copies while the app is running. You can exclude apps, and concealed content such as passwords is skipped by default. It still does not record every copy in the background.
