How to copy part of a snippet or text from a screenshot
You often need one address, one tracking number, or one sentence from a longer snippet. KeyPaste can split that content into words on the device so you can copy only the parts you want.
This is the same flow for saved text and, with Pro, for text recognized in a single image.
Copy words from a text snippet
Open a single plain-text or rich-text item in the Library, Inbox, a folder, or a tag.
- On iPhone or iPad, long-press the row or card and choose word selection. A system sheet opens.
- On Mac, right-click the item in the main window. A sheet opens.
- In the menu bar Quick Panel, right-click the item to open a page inside the panel.
Rich text is split using its plain-text version. URLs and email addresses stay as one block. Spaces and line breaks are kept in the reconstructed result, but they are not shown as tappable chips.
Tap a word to add or remove it. Drag across words to select or clear a run. You can pick words that are not next to each other. The top of the page shows how many blocks you have selected and a live preview of the combined result.
Copy from the top-right control. The page and your selection stay in place, so you can copy again after a small change. KeyPaste does not write this selection back into the snippet.
Insert selected words from the keyboard
In the KeyPaste keyboard, long-press a plain-text or rich-text snippet and choose word selection. Tap or drag word blocks, then insert them into the current field.
This keyboard path inserts through the system text proxy. It does not read or write the clipboard, and it does not require Allow Full Access.
Copy text from a screenshot or photo
For a single image item, you can first recognize text from the original image on the device, then use the same word-selection page.
Image recognition for this flow is a Pro feature. It runs on the device. KeyPaste does not include its own model and does not ask you to download one. Results depend on the device, system version, language, and image quality.
This one-off recognition is not saved back into the snippet, Inbox, iCloud, or other formal storage. Files, mixed items, and multi-select have no word-selection entry. The keyboard does not offer image recognition.
