Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the KeyPaste iOS and macOS apps, the KeyPaste keyboard, the share and action extensions, and related paid features. It explains what information KeyPaste collects, how that information is used, which third parties are involved, and what controls you have.

KeyPaste follows Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines on privacy, including App Privacy labels. If collection, use, or sharing changes, we will update this policy and those Apple disclosures.

1. Information We Collect

To provide KeyPaste, the app may process:

• Content you save: text, rich text, links, images, files, attachment names and types, tags, and content you add from the share sheet, the in-keyboard save flow, Shortcuts, or Siri.
• Clipboard content: when you choose to save from the clipboard, or when you turn on automatic clipboard capture in settings.
• Keyboard context: when you use Save to KeyPaste on the keyboard, the keyboard may read the text iOS makes available so that content can be saved.
• Settings: appearance, keyboard preferences, Pro status, iCloud sync, and similar product settings.
• On-device image text: when you use image text selection or Pro image search, KeyPaste may recognize text in images on your device so you can select or find that content. Apple system search may also show those image items.
• Link previews: when the app or a Home Screen widget shows a public web link you saved, your device may contact that website to load a preview. That request can include your IP address and the URL.
• Purchases: if you buy or restore Pro, Apple StoreKit provides product and purchase status. The main apps also use RevenueCat for purchase records, restore and support, refunds, and Apple Search Ads attribution.
• Usage analytics: the main iOS and macOS apps use Google Firebase Analytics to understand product use and reliability. This may include which areas you use, whether features succeed or fail, approximate item counts, diagnostics, and standard purchase signals. It does not include your saved content, search queries, titles, clipboard contents, what you type, advertising identifiers, or a city as product analytics. Firebase Analytics does not collect IDFV, and KeyPaste does not set an Analytics User-ID or an account or cross-device identifier. This collection runs automatically; Settings does not currently include an analytics opt-out.
• Crash reports: the main iOS and macOS apps use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash stacks and device or system information so we can fix crashes. Crashlytics may assign an install UUID to count how many installations hit a crash; that UUID is not an account, and KeyPaste does not set a Crashlytics User-ID. Keyboard, Share, Action, and widget process crashes are not collected in this version. Crash reports do not include search queries, titles, or clipboard contents.

Saved content is stored on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your iCloud account. KeyPaste does not use that content for advertising or for tracking as Apple defines tracking.

2. How Data Is Stored

• Your library, Inbox, tags, and attachments are stored on your device by default.
• The main app and extensions share on-device data as needed to show your library, save from the keyboard or share sheet, and keep settings in sync.
• If you enable iCloud sync, Apple iCloud / CloudKit syncs eligible content across devices signed into your Apple Account.
• Files that remain outside KeyPaste may be available only on the device that can open the original file.

3. Keyboard and Allow Full Access

You can browse saved snippets and insert plain text without Full Access, and without network access.

If you enable Allow Full Access for the KeyPaste keyboard in iOS Settings, the keyboard can also:

• share data with the main app more reliably;
• save accessible text into KeyPaste;
• read the clipboard when you save from it, or when you have turned on automatic capture, including text and image pixels; and
• play haptic feedback based on your settings.

The keyboard does not record or transmit what you type in other apps, and does not use that content for advertising. It does not currently send analytics over the network. Keyboard-process crashes are not collected in this version.

4. Share and Action Extensions

When you use KeyPaste from another app’s iOS share sheet, KeyPaste reads only the items you shared so it can save them. Both the icon-row share extension and the action-list row show a confirmation screen where you can choose a destination. KeyPaste does not scan other apps.

5. Apple and Third-Party Services

• Apple: StoreKit for purchases; iCloud / CloudKit for optional sync; on-device image recognition and system search; Shortcuts and Siri when you use them. Payment card details and Apple Account passwords are handled by Apple, not by KeyPaste.
• RevenueCat: anonymous purchase records, restore and support, refunds, and Apple Search Ads attribution. StoreKit is what unlocks Pro. If you contact us from Settings, the message may include that anonymous purchase-record identifier so we can look up the record.
• Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics: anonymous product analytics and host-app crash reports, processed by Google under Firebase privacy information. KeyPaste does not use this data for advertising or for tracking as Apple defines tracking.
• Websites you saved: link previews contact those sites as described above. Their own privacy practices apply to those requests.

Third parties that receive data as described here are expected to protect it in line with this policy and Apple’s requirements.

KeyPaste does not currently include advertising SDKs or use data for tracking as Apple defines tracking. If that changes, we will update this policy, App Privacy labels, and App Tracking Transparency where Apple requires it.

6. Retention, Deletion, and Your Controls

KeyPaste keeps the data it processes as needed to provide the product, on your device and, if you enabled it, in iCloud, until you delete it, turn the related feature off, or uninstall.

You can:

• delete snippets and Inbox items in the app;
• turn off iCloud sync in settings;
• turn off Allow Full Access in iOS Settings;
• turn off automatic clipboard capture in settings;
• stop using the share sheet, keyboard save flow, Shortcuts, or Siri;
• uninstall the app, which removes local app data. If you used iCloud, retention of synced data then follows your Apple Account.

Anonymous purchase records held by RevenueCat may be retained for analytics, support, fraud prevention, and refunds under RevenueCat’s policies. Contact us to ask about deleting an anonymous purchase record. Deleting that record does not cancel or revoke the Apple purchase.

7. Children

KeyPaste is not directed at children. If you are a minor, use the app with a parent or guardian.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. The Last Updated date will change when we do. Material changes to what we collect, how we use it, or whom we share it with will also appear in App Privacy labels before they ship, and will follow Apple’s then-current privacy rules.
