How to keep passwords out of your clipboard history
The obvious worry with any clipboard tool is whether it may retain sensitive text. KeyPaste applies concealed-content and source-app filters to automatic capture, while leaving explicit save actions under your control.
Concealed content is skipped during automatic capture
When a password manager or secure source marks copied content as concealed, KeyPaste skips it during automatic clipboard capture. It is not added to the Inbox by that automatic path.
An explicit save is different. If you deliberately use Save Clipboard, the Share sheet, or another manual import action, KeyPaste treats that action as your intent and does not silently apply the automatic-capture filter. Review sensitive content before saving it, and delete anything you do not want stored or synced.
Exclude specific apps on Mac
On Mac you can go further and add specific apps to an exclusion list. Anything you copy while one of those apps is in the foreground is never captured. Open KeyPaste’s privacy settings on Mac, then add apps from the list of running applications.
Excluded apps are detected from the foreground app at copy time. These exclusions apply to automatic capture, not to content you explicitly choose to save.
No developer server
Even with capture and Full Access enabled, KeyPaste never uploads clipboard content to a developer server. Data is stored locally; if you enable iCloud sync, eligible data can also sync through your own iCloud. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
